Ashley Giles MBE
Ashley Giles was a left arm spinner who proved time and time again to be England’s most reliable and effective slow bowler after establishing himself during the triumphant tour of Pakistan in 2001.
Despite being written off by the press on numerous occasions throughout his career, Ashley continued to produce some amazing cricket moments, including a ripping delivery to bowl Brian Lara for his 100th test wicket and a career best 59 with the bat to help seal England’s first Ashes victory for 18 years in 2005.
Ashley retired as a player in 2007 and is now the Director of Cricket at Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
