James Benning

James Benning is an all-rounder, although it is his explosive batting which attracts most of the headlines. He played for England at Under-15 level, and in 2003 he won the award for Surrey's most promising newcomer.

By 2005, James had established himself in both his county's National League and Twenty20 sides, and also made the most of the limited chances he got in the Championship. The 2006 season proved that he was continuing to progress and he ended the year with the second best average for both the Pro40 and Twenty20 teams.
