Paul Collingwood

Paul Collingwood MBE

Paul Collingwood’s personable character and amiable approach to life should not be confused with his ambition – it hides a hard competitive edge and a burning desire to reach the heights of his profession, a goal which he accomplished with his role in the final test of the 2005 summer. Despite breaking into the One-Day team in 2001, Paul had only played in two tests previous to the decisive fifth test against Australia at The Oval. His performance helped to ensure that England regained the Ashes for the first time in 18 years.

This has since been followed up with a series of accomplished innings on the sub-continent, cementing his place with the Test and One-Day side, whilst banishing any remaining doubts over his technique at the highest level. Couple this with being England’s most natural and agile fielder, you can expect Paul’s ambitions for the future to grow ever more demanding.
